From June 16th to 19th, 2019, the Capriccio group attended the International Conference on Nonlinear Solid Mechanics (ICoNSoM) in Rome, Italy. Maximilian Ries gave a talk about his ongoing research entitled “Charaterization of polystyrene under uniaxial and shear deformation using molecular dynamics”. Wuyang Zhao gave insights into his work on constitutive modeling  in the presentation “An elasto-viscoplastic polymer constitutive model based on molecular dynamics simulation under uniaxial finite deformation”, whereas Sebastian Pfaller introduced the Capriccio method in his talk “The Capriccio method: a multiscale simulation technique for polymers”. The conference stimulated many scientific discussions, among others with our partners Fabrice Detrez from Paris and Christian Wick from Erlangen.
