Coffee break: Capriccio meets PULS
Once a month Capriccio and the PULS Group of Ana-Sunčana Smith meet for a joint “coffee break” – a good chance to discuss scientific topics in a relaxed atmosphere and to bring up current issues to be looked at from various perspectives. The close exchange between our groups allows us to assess our multidisciplinary research from different points of view and to get profound feedback: ‘Overall, PULS’s ultimate goal is to provide the same depth of understanding of biological processes as we have in physics.’ Particularly, Christian Wick, whose research focuses i.a. on multiscale modeling of fracture in epoxy resins, is an expert in molecular modeling and thus sparks interesting and interdisciplinary discussions. These help all participants to gain a deeper understanding and challenge everyone to find a common language. This time, our discussions revolved around the requirements to set up a polymeric MD sample in a physically sound way.
