From February, 24th to 29th, 2020, the Capriccio group visited the Department of Applied Mechanics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in India’s capital. Within the joint programme “Multi-Scale Modeling, Simulation and Optimization for Energy, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing“, we had intense scientific exchange with our Indian partners, mainly with Prof. Ajeet Kumar. The overarching topic of multiscale modelling and simulation enabled fruitful discussions among our groups. Furthermore, this international collaboration helps to broaden our horizon and is a profound basis to develop new ideas of research.

Beyond our scientific meetings, we had lot of opportunities for further exchange at joint lunch breaks and dinners. We closed our visit to India with a South Indian brunch, followed by a tour to downtown Delhi and a late afternoon “lunch” at Khan Market.
