From August 27th to 29th, the Capriccio group held a mini retreat with particular focus on current scientific issues, current publication preparations, upcoming conferences, and many more issues that are difficult to focus on within everyone’s daily routine.

The first day was dedicated to the preparation of FRASCAL’s RTG retreat to be held mid of September: firstly, Christof’s scientific progress has been evaluated by all members of the Capriccio group based on a presentation of the status and future plans. Furthermore, links between other FRASCAL and Capriccio projects have been discussed intensively. In this context, particular focus laid on future research activities and possible collaborations. Secondly, a fruitful discussion of data management aspects within the Capriccio group and their relation to FRASCAL revealed the necessity of careful consideration of these issues.

On the second day, individual discussions among the Capriccio group members enforced thorough examinations of everyone’s research activities, particularly with respect of those of the other group members. Furthermore, based on these profound discussions current problems and possible solution strategies have been considerd.

The last day summarized the individual discussions of the day before and formulated future research activities. Beyond that, overall strategies have been considered in detail and provided the basis for mid-term and long-term time planning.
